Power Shift 2011 now underway, is an event that promotes energy efficient education with intent on recruiting 10,000 youth leaders from every walk of life to be on the front lines in the fight for a clean energy future.
The four day long conference presents students with an array of resources, experts including an impressive line-up of key note speakers such as Al Gore Bill McKibben, Lisa P. Jackson and Van Jones.
Furthermore, attendees will participate in the largest organizing training in history as taught by their peers. Break out sessions will provide “tracks” for attendees to learn about buliding a clean energy economy, leading the environmental justice movement with entrepreneurial opportunities to integrate clean energy systems into mainstream use.
On an individual level the educational aspect is invaluable for inspiring collective effort towards conservation initiatives in our youth, beyond this the conference offers career growth in green industry.
Power Shift 2011 (April 15th-18th) is a project of the Energy Action Coalition and will be held at Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC.
