at Hacienda Chichen hosted a Green Gala for T20 delgates showcasing cultrual and environmental practices of the highest ‘sustainable standards’.
Mexico’s Secretary of tourism, Gloria Guevara, and the leaders of the T20 Ministers of Tourism joined by a number of international travel organization heads and World Tourism Orgs – where in the Yucatan recently for the 4th T20 Ministers of Tourism Meetings (T20 Mexico).
During their visit the assembly were treated to organic fair made from local ingredients by Maya staff at Hacienda Chichen – voted one of the world’s best green hotels.
The setting was ideal for hosting a ‘Green Gala’ celebrating a global congress for the establishment of commitments by agencies, governments, companies and associations at the international level to collaborate in initiatives that promote sustainable global development through tourism.
Enchanted by the grounds delegates were impressed to learn about Hacienda Chichen’s past and present commitment to responsible tourism, green living, and the Maya heritage.
The Gala Feast consisted of organic Chaya and Pineapple cocktails with a variety of Yucatan’s traditional appetizers, and a starter of chilled cucumber cream. This was followed by aged beef filet mignon served with a Mayan peppers sauce (Nohoch Pol, Yax Pol, y X’ Max-ulam or piper auritum) and steam asparagus (vegetarian guests were served organic pasta primavera). Dessert was an organic freshly made mango sorbet. All elegantly presented by Chef Josue Cime and his staff.

This years T20 seeks to generate a concrete proposal for the facilitation and simplification of visa regimes and migratory processes of member countries of the G20, identifying which would be the impact of such action in the generation of jobs and economic growth within these Nations.
