Creating a species database that utilizes imagery with information to innovate education, is one of many ways knowledge of natural history is evolving to engage new audiences in the wonders of the wild.
Like nature itself, the diversity and volume of creative projects, artful storytellers, exquisite literature and extensive resources accessible to naturalists of modern day, are so great that one issue alone could not contain.
Expanded over two editions our tribute to natural history covers many exciting projects, explores the role of photography and filmmaking in nature education and conservation, reflects the perspectives of presenters and other professionals producing documentaries, literature and other media dispersing insight and inspiration on the workings of nature.
Befitting of a tribute to natural history, we begin with an introduction by one of the most distinguished and loved of all naturalists, Sir David Attenborough. Also in this issue, a scholar’s library of nature—filled with new titles on art, photography, science and history. There is much to explore, enjoy the journey!
