Mother's Nature
The finest qualities of nature resonate in the charm, and wisdom of a mother—hence the saying ‘Mother Nature’. Here are some outdoor adventures to celebrate the nature of a mother—all that is wonderful, loving and wise!
Forages and Picnics: good food and fresh air is a fine way to spend Mother’s Day.
Plan a foraging adventure in the forest, a picnic by the river, or in the garden. And perhaps, surprise mom with some outdoor cooking equipment or a basket filled with homemade treats.
Expeditions and Observations: what wonderful discoveries one can make, following the trail of a wayward snail.
Buy or borrow some kit (camera, binoculars, pad and pencil), and enjoy a day exploring your nearest National Park. Try out your photo skills and create a life long memory for mom. Make a game of it, see how many species you can find. Parks often have guide books or brochures to help identify native flora and fauna. Not only is nature a restorative place to spend the day, but you can learn so much from observing nature’s way.
Thrills and Challenges: conquering a fear or achieving a goal, is good for the soul.
Remind mom of her inner strength and abilities, take her scuba-diving, zip-lining or some other bucket list adventure. We discover our full potential, when pushed outside the comfort zone.
