Meet Mikael Strandberg, one of the world’s foremost explorers and a true free spirit, as he readies himself for a truly historic journey across the frozen tundra of Siberia.
On January 20, 2013, world-renowned Swedish explorer Mikael Strandberg, left his home and set out for the coldest inhabited place on earth, Oymyakon in northeast Siberia where the average winter temperature is -50°C.
He, along with the 3 other members of his team, will meet up with a group of Eveny reindeer herders and set out on a historic journey. Traveling over 600km by reindeer pulling sledges, they will explore the most remote parts of Siberia, all the way from the little known mountains of Kolyma to the Okhotsk Sea.
