Athlete's View of Athens

Ultra-marathon runner Andrew Hedgman recently touched down in Greece, where he has been exploring the Pantheon and testing out the terrain.
Andrew who is an ambassador for Wildlife Warriors will compete in a race along Turkey’s Ancient Lycian Way on the 22 September 2012, to raise funds and awareness for the Vital Ground Foundation.
But before begining his ‘Grand Adventure for the Grizzlies’ – Andrew wanted to checkout the culture and conditions in Athens…
Everything has been going great here. We (my friend and I) have seen some amazing sights including the acropolis, the Parthenon, temple of posideion and other great places. We have also visited a couple of the Greek islands too.
Training has been going well, I have spent most of it in the gym as it is sometimes difficult to run around Athens. I did however do a training run this morning from Athens to the town of marathon, 42.2km, the actual marathon distance!
I tried to go for a run the other morning around the acropolis however almost got attacked by a pack of dogs! Two of them ran at me snarling at me and not letting me get away, other dogs were near by which distracted them and I managed to quietly get away. It was quite scary (still dark and no one around) so I decided the gym would be the safer option!
You can help motivate Andrew by sponsoring a leg of his journey!
