Nespresso captures the aroma of ‘Paradise in the Pacific’ with their rare and precious Hawaii Kona Grand Cru.
Coveting the virtues of natures riches, Nespresso’s latest offering from the Big Island reflects their dedication to quality of source and production.
The Kona Coffee Belt is a narrow strip of land on the western side of Big Island, sheltered from strong winds and nourished by the fertile slopes of two volcanoes.
The annual production, approximately 3 million pounds of green coffee, is less than 1% of the world’s total coffee production. Nespresso sourced only the top 1% of this already precious supply – Type 1 beans known as Kona Extra Fancy – for the Hawaii Kona Grand Cru.
The handpicked cherries are processed using the “wet method” traditionally practised by Kona coffee farmers. After careful fermentation, and washing the beans are left to sun-dry on traditional hoshidana drying platforms. A specific two-phase roasting profile further develops this rare pleasure to achieve the perfect balance of acidity, bitterness, body and fragrance.
Described as “freshly ground heaven”, the fragrance which fills the air as one prepares this Special Reserve Limited Edition Coffee, is sublime!
Exceptional in taste and rare in abundance, Kona coffee presents unexplored culinary potential, exciting the palate of professional chefs eager to create from its intricate flavour and aromatic notes.
Silky and delightlyful subtle with a golden hew and fruity linger – you won’t want to miss this taste of Paradise!
