From the ground up, our earth renews itself. It is this sentiment that inspires wild advocates and conservationists around the world and drives ‘tree planting’ campaigns that remind us “Growing is Forever”.

Certainly, our lifestyles have impact—some of which is irreversible, but even more that has yet to define our planets future. And at the root of earths renewal are trees, living filters offering shelter for nature and fresh air to sustain life ‘everywhere’.

“A Billion Begins with One” is the message and objective behind the Plant One Billion Trees campaign by the Nature Conservancy, a major forest restoration effort with a goal of planting a billion trees across the planet. Trees provide so many benefits to our everyday lives. They filter clean air, provide fresh drinking water, help curb climate change, and create homes for thousands of species of plants and animals. Planting a Billion Trees can help save the Earth from deforestation. It’s a big number, but with people’s support it is achievable.

Since 2010, Earth Day Network has planted tens of millions of trees with The Canopy Project, working worldwide to strengthen communities. Using regional tree species and allowing the saplings to grow for 6–18 months, The Canopy Project initiatives have high tree survival rates.

You can support The Canopy Project by donating — each dollar you donate supports the planting of one tree. Planting trees strengthens local economies. Every dollar spent on reforestation generates $2.50 in local downstream income and benefits.

Help preserve our environment and combat climate change. Plant a tree through The Canopy Project
