App Fast Tracked in Aid of Floods

The approval process for new apps can take upwards of a week but APPLE fast tracked the Flood Situation app designed by Brenton Currie creator of iFirelert (a bushfire information app) in urgent response to the Queensland floods.
Available through iTunes, search for Queensland Floods 2011 the app works on all iDevices. Currie admits, development of the application was expedited to assist victims of the crisis and therefore still contains some bugs.
Despite this the app provides the latest ABC flood podcasts, news bulletins, links to information on road closures, power outages and twitter tweets with the hashtag #qldfloods. And, thanks to APPLE’s swift approval, this useful tool is now available to help the emergency and recovery process.
